There must be a million different melting snowman treats on the blogosphere, so when my friends at Food Network approached me to make a melting snowman cake, I wanted it to be something fresh and different. I’d never seen a melting snowman bundt cake, so that became the plan. One bundt cake turned into two stacked high, so we ended up with a double bundt cake that will feed the masses at your next holiday party!

The recipe starts with vanilla and peppermint cake batters swirled together. Use a butter knife or even a long skewer to to the marbling.

You’ll need a standard-size bundt pan and a smaller bundt pan for the top cake. This mini bundt panis the perfect size, or you could use a steamed pudding mold as I did.

The snowman’s features are all simple ingredients: chocolate chips, sprinkles, a pretzel stick, a red licorice lace, an orange fruit chew. It was so fun choosing these elements and seeing the snowman come to life.

Lots of glaze!

The cake is tasty with a stunning red swirled interior. You can find the recipe, and a video tutorial on Food Network’s website –

This holiday season is flying by – we’re just ten days away from Christmas Eve! Pretty soon it will be time to celebrate the New Year, which is hard to believe. I’m already dreaming up bubbly champagne treats for toasting! xo-h

Could someone tell me how she did the hat? It's not in the pictures. Thank you!
Hi Joyce,
Heather here. It's a vanilla wafer cookie with half of a fun size Snickers candy bar on top. There's a link in the blog post to the video which will show you how it's made. Here's the link in case you missed it.
