How cute are these guys? I can't help but giggle at them a little. I had them sitting on the kitchen counter on a serving plate and their eyes would follow me as I worked in the kitchen. They didn't stay there too long though! These cookies are irresistible with their buttery flavor and soft texture.
You won't need any special equipment to make these. A round cookie cutter will help, but you can use the opening of a glass tumbler in a pinch. The owl faces are made with simple pantry staples: chocolate chips, almonds and a little cocoa powder.

DeleteHi Heather! I love your blog - you're so talented! Can the cookie dough for these owlies be made in advance and stored in the freezer or fridge? I was wondering the same thing about the peppermint sandwich cookies as well. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Rowan!
DeleteThank you! Yes, both doughs can be made ahead and refrigerated. If you need to make them more than five days ahead, then freeze them. If three or less refrigerate. Thanks for asking!
