Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a unique treat at one of my favorite places in all the blogosphere: Bakingdom! I've been smitten with Darla's work ever since I first discovered her site, and I feel she is a true kindred spirit when it comes to creating and decorating with sugar. You simply must see her work to believe it!
I wanted something colorful and cheerful for my guest post, and mochi fits the bill! Get all the details on what mochi is and how to make it HERE!

Heading over there! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

This just tickles me - there is a great sushi restaurant where I live that serves mochi for dessert and I have never seen it anywhere else (I tend to be behind on the treat times). I'm so glad you posted a mochi recipe because I've been so curious to know what's in it. Beautiful presentation, lady!
ReplyDeleteI love mochi but who knew it'd actually be doable right in your own kitchen?! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial - I can't wait to tackle these!
ReplyDeleteI love mochi!! I want to know how to flavor it tho. Taro mochi is my favorite, but I have no clue how to incorporate the flavor.
ReplyDeleteHow do you do what you do...so well? I will be trying to duplicate this soon!
ReplyDeleteThese look lovely! Heading over to have a look now :)

I know I have eaten these somewhere but can't remember where. It is such an unusual combination of sweet with savory. I've popped over to see the recipe. Who knew they were so easy to make. Beautiful photo, by the way.

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful spring colors...now I'm off to find out what Mochi is! xo ~Lili
ReplyDeleteHold the phone! I first had mochi in 2010 at a Pinkberry in San Diego. I fell in love! Much like you, I was obsessed with it. I purchased some mochi ice cream at our local Whole Foods, but they stopped carrying it soon after that. I researched it online, but I couldn't find a good recipe for it. I tried making it myself based on what I found online, and it was disgusting--not the light, delicious marshmallowy cloud I remembered.
ReplyDeleteToday I came across your post, and I am ecstatic!! I'm ordering the rice flour now, and I can't wait to make some mochi. :) Now to just find a good green tea ice cream recipe to go with it!
