Santa’s Candy Bark

Santa's Candy Bark

Hello and welcome to Santa Land! Population: As many chocolate foil-wrapped santas as you can fit on a pound of white chocolate bark.

Christmas always needs as little kitsch, if you ask me, and these curious looking foil wrapped Santas really made me giggle. Some are holding lanterns and wreaths, and others are giving me some major side-eye! What’s up Santa? Are you judging me? (I almost forgot – that’s his job!)

Santa's Candy Bark

SweetWorks sent me a variety of foil-wrapped chocolates, which were the defining addition to this bark. You can find their peanut butter Santas for sale here, or check your local World Market or specialty shops that import chocolates. I’ve seen some pretty darn cute Belgian Santa Clauses – heck, even Lindt has some cute foil-wrapped chocolates (Santa Bark could easily be Snowman Bark instead).

Santa's Candy Bark

The white almond bark has just the right texture to adhere the foil-wrapped candies, and with a gentle nudge they pop right off! You can find the candy in the baking aisle at the grocery store with the chocolate chips. It’s sometimes labeled ‘white candy bark’ or ‘white candy coating’. The foil chocolates must be unwrapped before eating, of course (do I really need to say that?).

This is an easy, low-stress, FUN recipe to make and give. Little hands can help too. You can find the confetti sprinkles I used here, and the edible glitter gold stars here, but all manner of sprinkling is open to your own artistic expression.

This is cute, but I don't think I follow why you'd put wrapped candy in melted chocolate.. I think it would be really hard to get to and unwrap, not to mention germs from hands that have touched the foil before you 🙁 Super cute to look at though!

Hi Anonymous! It's purely for aesthetics. If you use almond bark (not white chocolate) then the foil wrapped candies pop right off. I like the novelty. To each their own. 🙂

So so cute!! I'm going to add this to my list of "must do"s this season.

PS, I won't worry about the germs from hands any more (or LESS) than I'll worry about my hands touching any ingredients.

What a fun idea! White chocolate is a much better vessel for foil-wrapped chocolate than a box, i think 😛

Do, you have to use almond bark, or could I just use normal white chocolate?

Too cute! Good to know the foil comes off of almond bark. My first thought was "foil stuck in candy, ouch for fillings". I'm definitely going to make this now!
