Homemade Tootsie Rolls® for Food 52!

Halloween is fast approaching and I've got candy on the brain!

I have a special love for the nostalgic goodies that ended up in my treat bag as a kid, so I've re-created one of the classics.  This is my no-bake/no-cook version of Tootsie Rolls®!  You can find the recipe and instructional photos on Food52's Small Batch!

  4. I never liked tootsie rolls. They don't taste like chocolate; they taste like a chocolate scented candle. But homemade everyone is usually better, right? Plus cocoa powder always gives a great chocolate taste to everything. It's a neat idea: making you're own tootsie rolls.

  8. It's times like this I wish I lived over the pond so I knew what a Tootsie roll was. Whatever they are, they look and sound amazing but equally as great that you shared the recipe too so I can taste a homemade version! :)
