Homemade Tootsie Rolls® for Food 52!

Halloween is fast approaching and I've got candy on the brain!

I have a special love for the nostalgic goodies that ended up in my treat bag as a kid, so I've re-created one of the classics.  This is my no-bake/no-cook version of Tootsie Rolls®!  You can find the recipe and instructional photos on Food52's Small Batch!

I never liked tootsie rolls. They don't taste like chocolate; they taste like a chocolate scented candle. But homemade everyone is usually better, right? Plus cocoa powder always gives a great chocolate taste to everything. It's a neat idea: making you're own tootsie rolls.

Question, what kind of honey? Liquid or creamed?

It's times like this I wish I lived over the pond so I knew what a Tootsie roll was. Whatever they are, they look and sound amazing but equally as great that you shared the recipe too so I can taste a homemade version! :)

As soon as I saw the photo, I had to jump over and see how you made these - they look fantastic! I'm featuring this post as part of Food Fetish Friday (with a link-back and attribution) and thanks for making me drool!
