Do you ever wish there was more than just one you? I do. I'd get so much accomplished. The dogs would be walked regularly, the kitchen would be spotless, laundry would be folded, blog posting would increase, emails and tweets would be answered in a timely manner, my book would be finished and I'd still have time to enjoy the view.
I'm behind on a few things, to say the least.
With all the catching up I have to do, I was expecting to miss a regularly scheduled blog post. Serendipitously, Crown Publishing has offered to give 3 of my readers a copy of David Lebovitz's new book, The Sweet Life in Paris. So, there will be no recipe today, but something just as sweet.
Not only does it contain delectable recipes, but it also has the smart and hilarious storytelling that is a trademark of David's popular blog.
To Enter:
1. Fill in the form below and submit.
2. Leave a comment- tell me what dessert you'd walk across hot coals for.
I have lots of favorites, but recently spotted- I'd probably go through fire for this. Or
Valid for residents in the continental US only. Contest ends 3/6. Winners will be contacted via email.
This contest is now closed - thanks for entering!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 331 Newer› Newest»Creme brulee -- yum!
Awesome Photo!!!!!!
Chocolate..anything chocolate!
Cherry Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream!
a good creamy heavy cheese cake...
I make a chocolate chess pie. It is so good!!!
My mom's rhubarb pie. Hers is the best!
Honestly....a perfectly moist deep red velvet cupcake....with the perfectly tart (not too sweet) cream cheese icing....the best one I have found is DC's Cupcakery Red Velvet's Southern Belle.
Chocolate Souffle! mmmmmmmmm!
A piece of mom's fresh-out-of-the-oven pecan pie and homemade (THE REAL STUFF) vanilla ice cream. I'm drooling just thinking about it!
Love your picture! Have a good one!
Banana cream pie..yumm!
A homemade rich, buttery, not to sweet chocolate chip cookie...right out of the oven with the chocolate still melting.
I would walk across hot coals to the ends of the earth for Cannolis!
i would walk across hot coals for a levain bakery chocolate chip cookie. i wish i had one right now!
A big fat, chewy, warm chocolate chip cookie. With milk. Perfection.
Chocolate meringue pie, yum.
my great Aunt Painsy's chocolate meringue pie. She doesn't use measuring cups or anything but it is always perfect :)
hmmm...probably graham cracker eclair cake :)
I couldn't live without cheesecake!
I've had my eye on this chocolate cake, I am DYING to make it!
http://www.merrygourmet.com/2011/02/celebrating-year-one-chocolate-stout-cake-with-buttercream-frosting/
But really, I'd do just about anything for something chocolate. :)
ooh I would walk across hot coals for a piece of lemon meringue pie, as long as the meringue is sky high!
i'd walk through fire for a bowl of coffee ice cream.
A really great, simple bowl of strawberries with freshly whipped cream on top. Easier said than found.
My mom's apple pie, with ice cream, of course! I LOVE pie!!! And, almost anything lemon...
I love pumpkin cupcakes or muffins. I would do anything for some!
I Love orange cake with strawberry pure
Seriously! How adorable are you?! Love your pic and your house! I'm not eligible for the draw, but those salted caramel cupcakes of yours worthy of toasty toes. I'd also take a pain au chocolat ANY day, especially if its from paris:)
Hard to choose just one, so here's a small list: Salted Caramel Cupcakes, Creme Brulee, Flourless choc. cake w/ cinnamon ice cream, Leonard's Bakery malasadas.
Creme Brulee, hands down.
Creme Brulee.... YUMM!!!!!
my mom used to make this cake parfait called "death by chocolate"-- chocolate cake, pudding, cool whip, and heath bar! all of it was from a box, but it was the MOST amazing thing when i was a kid!
Plain Cheesecake
Oh my. Tiramisu. Homemade. Goodness, pure heaven.

It may sound not-so-special, but I'd do just about anything for Grand Marnier Creme Brulee. The hard, crisp, crunchy top revealing that smooth, creamy, sweet center with a hint of that smooth Grand Marnier flavor-- gets me every time.
My grandma's Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. I keep trying to make it but it never turns out like Grandma's!
Strawberries and real whipped cream. Or brownies and real whipped cream. Or whipped cream with whipped cream. Not picky.

I've been TOTALLY distracted for the last 30 minutes by those chocolate chip cookie dough stuffed cinnamon rolls! I was going to say the best dessert is chocolate chip with toasted pecans cookie dough cold out of the frig, but now I'll have to wrap a little cinnamon roll around it . . . well, around part of the dough. I'm in heaven! :)
I would do Bikram yoga for 10 hours if you gave me the desert that my husband and I treat ourselves to from a local restaurant. It has a peanut butter/caramel hot sauce on the bottom of a ceramic tall mug, on top of that you have a hot chocolate, almost souflee-like cake on top, then topped with a rich hot chocolate sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. Like I said...10 hours of excruciating pain for this would be worth it! :)

Sounds intimidating but it's absolutely delicious!
I would walk across hot coals for molten lava cake.
Tiramisu!!
a moist coconut cake with coconut frosting or cannolis!
I'm a complete cupcake girl, but lately, I have been loving Alton Brown's "the Chewy" chocolate chip cookies. I even baked them into Kristen over at "Confessions of a Cookbook Queen's" Cookie Cake Cupcakes. When I'm not munching that, I have to go with my heritage and say fresh MacKenzies King Cake from New Orleans with a side of Hot Beignets from Cafe Du Monde.
I would walk through hot coals for a walnut cake with walnut/mocha buttercream frosting. Yep, yep I would!
Big, super soft, almost-doughy-in-the-center, intensely sweet sugar cookies. So simple. So epic.

I'm obsessed with chocolate mousse recently. I'm doing a Fulbright in Belgium right now and the stuff is everywhere, and I've finally honed my mousse-making skills to, IMHO, perfection. I'm also kind of obsessed with vlaai, which is a Dutch/Flemish type of pie. The crust is yeasty and ohsoyummy.

I'd have to say Macrons! The are delicious and subtle and so visually appealing!
Oh, geez. I have to narrow it to one? OK... so I want to just cop out and say chocolate, but it has to be really, really good chocolate. If I named a dessert made with that chocolate though it would actually have to be Dorie Greenspan's recipe for Gooey Chocolate Cakes made with bittersweet Callebaut chocolate. Otherwise, chocolate chip cookies! :)
Thanks for holding the giveaway! **fingers crossed**
